Temporary Suspension of Access to Latest Web of Science Content (2026)

The Web of Science (WoS) database is not a direct subscription of the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). Until 2025, access was provided through a centralised subscription by the eSS Consortium on behalf of the Ministry of Education.

Please note: Access to Web of Science content published in 2026 is currently unavailable. At present, access is restricted to the archival coverage period from 1945 to 2025 only. The archival content can be accessed at https://apps.webofknowledge.com .

We understand that the Ministry of Education is in the process of deciding on the renewal of the Web of Science subscription. In the interim, the Ministry has requested Clarivate Analytics, the publisher of Web of Science, to suspend access to current content with effect from January 1, 2026.

Continued access to the latest Web of Science content will depend on the Ministry’s decision regarding subscription renewal. We will keep the IISc community informed as soon as an update becomes available.
