Trial Access to Online Resources

The Library regularly arranges trials for new / unsubscribed online resources/tools. Publishers are usually willing to provide trial access to allow us to use and evaluate a resource before deciding on a subscription/purchase.

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhance your library experience, we have three trials underway. These trials are designed to gather your feedback and improve our services to serve your needs better.

1. Trial access to The Arabidopsis Information Resource (TAIR)

The Arabidopsis Information Resource (TAIR) maintains a genetic and molecular biology data database for the model higher plant Arabidopsis thaliana. Data available from TAIR includes the complete genome sequence, gene structure, gene product information, gene expression, D.N.A. and seed stocks, genome maps, genetic and physical markers, publications, and information about the Arabidopsis research community. Gene product function data is updated weekly from the latest published research literature and community data submissions. TAIR also provides extensive linkouts from our data pages to other Arabidopsis resources.

We would appreciate your feedback on the usefulness of TAIR for your research and learning objectives.

Please complete a short survey by December 23, 2023, to share your opinions and suggestions.

2. Springer Protocols

SP offers researchers access to up to 30 years' worth of time-tested, step-by-step protocols for immediate use in their labs. Building on the heritage of the Methods in Molecular Biology series and content from other quality resources, researchers can be sure that whichever protocol they choose will be the most reliable and accurate technique.

Trial period: 14 August 2023 to 31 December 2023

Your feedback is valuable to us. Throughout the trial, we would appreciate any comments or suggestions you may have.

3. Shaastra Magazine, an IITM publication

Shaastra is the only India-based science magazine that provides an India-centric view of science and technology. As a knowledge platform, it aims to fill the gap in science and technology reportage through well-researched, in-depth articles. The magazine features the best global R&D for science enthusiasts who would like to stay abreast of the trends in the industry. The country's best science writing professional journalists present the rich, robustly researched, insightful and informative content featured in Shaastra.

Trial period: 16 August 2023 to 31 December 2023

Your feedback is valuable to us. Throughout the trial, we would appreciate any comments or suggestions you may have.
